Rural Shoot with Katie O’

As the sun set behind the trees, a biting chill cut through the air, reminding us that Winter still had it’s grip in the evenings.

Yet here we were, the model and the photographer taking advantage of the dwindling light and pinky skies to get creative.

I’ve known Katie for the longest time. Her mother is a close friend of mine, both of us owning horses on the same working farm for over 25 years, and we decided that this same farm would be the perfect location for what we had in mind. A wave of nostalgia hit me as I turned the corner past the muckheap and into the yard!

Dogs (determined for us to throw things for them) scurried between our legs while high pitched grunts from the newly born calves echoed around. We spent a couple of hours making the most of the idyllic setting, but when both of us started losing the feeling in our fingers, we decided to call it a day and walk the short journey home. We’d got more than enough frames.

The gorgeous shepherd’s hut that can be seen in a couple of shots is available to book via Airbnb here!

I’d love to know what you think, so please do leave a comment!
